Bike The Allegrippis Trail System
Located along the scenic shores of the Raystown Lake recreational area, the Allegrippis Trail System is one of the Eastern United States’ premier single track mountain biking trail systems. The 24 trails in the system were designed and built by the International Mountain Bicycling Association for year-round recreational use including hiking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing and comprise 36 miles total. Breathe in the fresh air, hike or bike through tranquil forestland, or join in on an annual mountain biking celebration—just be sure to make plenty of stops along the way to take in the view.
Accessible trailheads to the Allegrippis Trail System are located at several locations along Seven Points Road. With interconnected loops that extend out from each other, it’s easy to customize your outdoor excursion (either by difficulty or time/distance) while hiking or biking the Allegrippis Trail System. The easier trails in the system are the Buck, Fawn, Doe, and Dark Hollow trails. The moderate trails are the Dirt Surfer, Sleek Dog, Switch, Barrel Bay, Shade, Stony, Allie, Grippis, Osprey, Red Legs, Loco-Motive, Eagle, Ridge, and Berry Patch trails. If you’re up for a challenge, tackle the Allegheny, Sidewinder, Hydro Loop, and Ray’s Revenge trails.
This May, visit the Allegrippis Trails for the annual Dirt Fest celebration. Registration gets you access to demonstrations on the latest products, shuttle service, skills clinics, group rides, live music, kids rides, educational seminars, evening movies, and much more! Dirt Rag Dirt Fest takes place May 21-23, 2021. Register today and book you stay at a nearby Bed & Breakfast.
