Celebrate the Year of Arts in the Lebanon Valley
Here in the Lebanon Valley, we’ve officially designated 2024 as our Year of the Arts! From artisan makers to theatrical productions, we’re celebrating the essential creativity and lively heartbeat that the arts bring to our community. Join us at these arts events this summer to celebrate!
As one of the top art shows in the country and the inspiration for our Year of the Arts, the Mount Gretna Outdoor Art Show will be celebrating their 50th show this summer! The art show features over 200 exhibitors, all displayed along the cottage-lined paths of Mt. Gretna, as well as a gourmet food market, live music, and new this year, the inaugural Mount Gretna International Film Festival.
The 2024 Mount Gretna Outdoor Art Show will take place on Saturday August 17th from 9am to 6pm, and Sunday, August 18th, from 9am to 5pm located at 101 Chautauqua Dr., Mt. Gretna, PA, 17064.
Throughout their 49-year history, Gretna Music has hosted over 2,100 musicians, including performances by 50 Grammy Award-winning artists. Gretna Music offers concertgoers the unique experience of listening to world class music in the “casual elegance” of the open-air Gretna Playhouse, a building which provides remarkable acoustics as well as some backing vocals from birds and cicadas nearby. During their 2024 summer season, Gretna Music will host performances by a range of talented musicians including Timberdale Brass, a new quartet out of Philadelphia, on Sunday, June 16th, and jazz harpist Brandee Younger on Saturday, July 27th. For their full summer lineup, check out Gretna Music’s website. Located at 200 Pennsylvania Ave, Mt. Gretna, PA 17064.
As one of the only professional theatres in South-Central Pennsylvania, Gretna Theatre brings Broadway-caliber performances to the Gretna Playhouse, America’s oldest summer theatre. For their 2024 season, the theatre has an impressive lineup planned, including a run of “Chess” featuring the Hershey Symphony, July 11th through the 20th. The theatre will also be running their family series throughout the summer. Check out their website for more. Located at 200 Pennsylvania Ave., Mt. Gretna, PA 17064.
