Holiday Horticulture: The Longwood Christmas Garden

Visit the Brandywine Creek Valley this season for the famous Longwood Garden Christmas display, a festive demonstration of lights, music, and holiday cheer. As one of the premier displays of outdoor and indoor exotic plants in the United States, Longwood Gardens has a dazzling collection of over six thousand seasonal plants illuminated with lights to celebrate Christmas this year until January 8th.
Head to the Music Room for the 18-foot Fraser fir display as well as the Exhibition Hall for the awe-striking Living Tree which towers 30 feet into the air. The Fern Passage is another beautiful horticulture display, titled “A Sea of Red and Green.” Find Amaryllis, Narcissus, Poinsetta, and Orchids at the Gardens, along with thousands of others plants.The Lookout Loft Treehouse is a fantastical location to find during your visit. The wheelchair-accessible, Adirondack style floats above the trees along the Forest Walk with a Christmas tree of its own in its center. The Treehouse offers a great view and a glowing romantic retreat among the winding paths of the Christmas light garden.
