Lehigh Valley Wine Trail

Located in an ideal grape-growing environment, wines produced in the area have won countless national and international awards.  Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Mountains of eastern Pennsylvania are eight family-owned vineyard and wineries, whose wines have brought home the Governor’s Cup nine times for Pennsylvania’s best wine. More than 50 awards were received for wines made from Chambourcin, their signature grape.

This picturesque region is in close proximity to Philadelphia and New York City making the Lehigh Valley Wine Trail a beautiful and easy escape for wine lovers. The fertile farmlands, rich in shale and limestone and favored with a moderate climate, provide an ideal growing environment for vineyards of both traditional Vinifera wine grapes and Native American grapes.

The wineries are open year ‘round and participate in several wine trail events that include:

Harvest Weekend – The Butcher, The Baker, the Winemaker

September 14 & 15

When fall rolls around, it’s time to celebrate the kick-off of harvest season. At this event, the wineries proudly promote the state’s “Pennsylvania Preferred” program by partnering with manufacturers of other Pennsylvania products to showcase their high level of quality. Wine pairings, vineyard tours, food, music and other special activities are featured.

Chambourcin Weekend

October 19 & 20

Celebration of the variety of vintages and styles produced from the Lehigh Valley Wine Trail’s premier grape – Chambourcin! The chambourcin grape is very versatile in the wine cellar, and these wineries have crafted it into every style imaginable – Nouveau, Rose, Semi-Sweet, Dry Barrel Aged, Sparkling and Port. You don’t want to miss the opportunity to taste a local treasure and discover your favorite one.
