America's Only All-Water Cavern

Nestled in Central Pennsylvania’s scenic Lion County, Penn’s Cave is America’s only all-water cavern and the only cave in Pennsylvania placed on The National Register of Historic Places. The limestone cavern is a natural landmark rich in geology and history. Glittering stalactites and stalagmites often appear in mysteriously familiar shapes such as “The Statue of Liberty” and “The Garden of the Gods.” The 50-minute interpretive tour includes a motorboat trip that winds through cavern passageways and when weather permits, a ride on Lake Nitanee.  See how dripping water has sculpted magnificent flowstone, curtains, cascades, and draperies against a background of pillars and gigantic columns.

Penn’s Cave is also home to a Wildlife Park.  The 90-minute guided bus tour travels over 1,600 acres of grazing pastures, mountain trails and forests that have been preserved as a natural habitat for birds and animals. North American animals such as bears, wolves, elk, deer, bobcats, bison, longhorn cattle, mustangs, bighorn sheep and mountain lion are seen.
