Cool Off in One of PA's Lazy Floating Rivers
With 86,000 miles of rivers, floating downstream with a whole lot of sun, fun, and some friends is the best way to stay cool this summer during your visit in Pennsylvania. Head to the Delaware and Schuylkill Rivers and pick up an inner tube for an unforgettable day full of the kick-back-and-relax kind of lifestyle.
SCHUYLKILL RIVER
Start your Schuylkill River excursion with Port Providence Paddle in the Schuylkill Canal. Enjoy the two and a half mile float downstream and soak up as much sun as you can. The takeout point is the historic Fitzwater Station where you and your fellow floaters can hop out and chow down on some delicious fare including beef and seafood alongside a variety of appetizers, sandwiches, and sides. Bask in the rich history (and air conditioning) of the restored 19th century tavern that was once a popular spot for bargemen traveling from Philadelphia on the Schuylkill River.

DELAWARE RIVER
Head to Bucks County River Country and the historic village of Point Pleasant for some serious R&R on the scenic Delaware River. Float aboard a single or double inner tube available for rent and purchase a summer season pass. Tour options include two, three, and four hour tours but all provide floating travelers an opportunity to see the natural beauty of the Delaware River up close and personal. Afterwards, enjoy a barbecue lunch on the sandy beaches of the Riverside Cafe.
