Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts
Since 1966, the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts has grown to a five-day celebration of all things art: ceramics, paper, metal, photography, blown glass, painting, and more. Celebrating its 51st year, the Festival of the Arts will be held Thursday, July 13 through Sunday July 16, 2017 on the streets of downtown State College and is known as one of the nation's best juried fine art and craft show. The award winning Sidewalk Sale and Exhibition will open on Thursday from 10:00am to 8:00pm through Saturday and Noon to 5:00pm on Sunday. Over 300 exhibitors will have their crafts on display. In addition to quality art, the musical and artistic performances have become a main draw with high standing international, national and regional performers. Performances are free and can be found on three outdoor stages and indoor at the State Theatre, Penn State Downtown Theatre and select downtown churches. You'll hear everything from jazz to bluegrass, folk to rock, concert bands and choral groups. Visit the website for a complete listing of performances, locations and times. Visitors are encouraged to park at the Festival parking at Jordan East (next to the Bryce Jordan Center) and use the bus service to get to and from the event. Parking is $5 and the bus is free.
You'll need more than a day to see all the exhibits and performances, so book your stay at a nearby Bed & Breakfast.
