Who are the Erie Otters?

Calling all ice hockey fans. The Erie Otters, a major junior ice hockey team, is one of only three American teams playing in the Ontario Hockey League. Based in Erie, Pennsylvania, the team takes its name from the North American river otter, a semiaquatic mammal commonly found by Lake Erie. The Erie Otters play home games at the newly renovated Erie Insurance Arena located in downtown Erie at 809 French Street. The arena is part of the Erie Civic Center Complex. For more information about players and games, visit www.ottershockey.com.

In addition to taking in a game, make it an extended stay to visit the charming small towns and miles of vineyards offering tours and tastings. Theatre lovers can take advantage of Erie's first-rate art scene at the elegant Warner Theater, home to the Erie Philharmonic and venue for Broadway hits. Or take a walk along one of the world's best-protected harbors at Presque Isle Bay. The Port of Erie boasts an extensive maritime history and a stop at the Erie Maritime Museum is a must see.
