Easy Downhill Rails-to-Trails Biking
Voted by Outside Magazine, “One of the 50 Best Rides in America,” The Lehigh Gorge Rail-Trail is a converted railroad bed, easy downhill trail that provides scenic traffic free riding for 25 miles along the Lehigh River. Pick your own pace as you pedal between towering mountains. You will discover dramatic scenery, numerous waterfalls, high trestles, swim spots, great hikes and an old tunnel to explore. There are picnic tables along the way where you can stop, relax and enjoy your lunch.

Offering three well marked and maintained trail options.
Option 1: Do the full Lehigh Gorge Trail by starting in White Haven and ending in Jim Thorpe. An easy 3 to 5 hours, 25 mile scenic downhill ride through the Lehigh Gorge State Park.
Option 2: Do the Upper Gorge by starting in White Haven and ending in Rockport. A pleasant 2 to 3 hour, 15 mile ride and offers some of the best historic sites and waterfalls you’ll find on the trail.
Option 3: Do the Lower Gorge by starting in Rockport and ending in Jim Thorpe. A very scenic 2 to 3 hour, 15 mile ride. There are expansive views, trestles, side hikes and so much more.
