Ski Elk Mountain in the Endless Mountains
Spend the season on the slopes at Elk Mountain Ski Resort, the premier skiing location in the state of Pennsylvania, just thirty miles north of Scranton. With twenty-seven slopes and trails, a 1000-foot vertical drop, and one of the best views in Pennsylvania, Elk Mountain is one of PA’s best winter adventures.
Located on North Knob of the Endless Mountains, the resort is positioned at the highest peak on the Allegheny Plateau and the highest point in PA east of the Susquehanna. Built in 1959 as one of PA’s first commercial ski areas, Elk Mountain is unique by the walls of evergreen trees on its slopes and the breathtaking view from its peak. The ski resort also has the most challenging skiing terrain found in the region, making it a top destination for the experienced athletes among us. Plenty of beginner slopes also makes this resort a great place to have a casual skiing experience, or take a lesson with one of their trainers to learn a new skill this winter.
Weekday Day Tickets start at $54 and Weekend Day Tickets start at $66. Ski rentals on weekdays are $32, and rentals on weekends are $36. To check current conditions, weather, and view a full map of Elk Mountain’s slopes, visit the website.
