PA Farm Show - A Wintertime Favorite
The Pennsylvania Farm Show is the largest agricultural event in the nation, and it’s one of the capitol area’s wintertime favorites. Besides the judged food competitions, rodeos, wine tasting, and Dairymen’s milkshakes, the PA Farm Show is an important venue for knowledge-sharing in our state’s most profitable industry. Farmers have an opportunity to show off what they do the best, learn about and shop for the latest farming equipment, as well as have a little fun. Check out some of this year’s new attractions, events, and exhibits and don’t forget to visit this year’s thousand-pound butter sculpture.
Organic Food: Looks like another industry in Pennsylvania is on the rise. PA is now the second-highest producer of organics in the country, meaning more and more of our food will be natural, farm-to-table produce. Visit the Farm Show to find some of the best-tasting organics in the region.
STEM: Discover the cutting-edge tools and technology that allows our farmers to make the most out of our nitrate-rich soil, give us better and healthier animals, and overcome weather and climate challenges. Listen to bunny heartbeats, learn about seed science, and much more at the PA Department of Agriculture booth in the Main Hall.
Calving Corner: Everyone knows more animals always walk out of the Farm Show than walked in. The brand-new animal care center allows visitors to witness the miracle of birth and learn from veterinarians at work in the care and stewardship of farm animals.
