Summer brings more than warm weather to Butler County; enjoy major fairs and festivals all summer long! Kick off the festival season in Slippery Rock with the Annual Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival, complete with trail rides, a Jeep playground with obstacles, history exhibits, over 150 vendors and the Bantam Jeep Muddy 5k, a hit for the whole family. Revel in a weekend-long celebration of local music and artists at the 6th Annual Band Jam, a festival showcasing the incredible talent featured on the "Grass Roots Show" in a live setting for music lovers of all genres to enjoy. Soak in the warm weather at Celebrate the Bloom, a full day of outdoor activities including walks, workshops, demonstrations and a culminating bonfire, plus local food, vendors and entertainment.
If you’re looking for one of the best fairs in the country, make a trip to Portersville for the Big Butler Fair, the largest fair in western PA. Every year, visitors from all around to come to enjoy fireworks, the midway, games, demolition derbies, concerts, truck pulls and more. Roll on into the Portersville Steam Show to enjoy features including a vintage village, farm animals, train rides, steam engines, flea market, crafts, great food, kids’ pedal tractor pulling, tractors, large traction engines, tractor pulls and a steam building. Enjoy all things outdoor at the Regatta at Lake Arthur, sailing into its 20th year at Moraine State Park. This free weekend of activities is ‘naturally’ fun for friends and families to enjoy, with land and lake events, and exciting opportunities to engage with the natural resources of the park.
Take a stroll through the forest in the quaint town of Saxonburg to find Whispering Pines Festival in the Woods, a bi-annual festival that features outstanding antique dealers, talented artisans and many passionate vendors that take pride in their products. Come out to the Saxonburg Carnival to see the “Largest Fireman's Parade East of the Mississippi,” a pet parade, a fireman's water battle, carnival rides, and a raffle with awesome prizes. Enjoy the Concordia Summer Festival, a traditional festival that has been held annually for more than 130 years, featuring a worship service, a mass choir and a special menu based on the year’s theme, sure to entertain all ages.
Head to the county seat to enjoy a showcase of the county’s farming community with farming exhibits, tractor pulls, crafts, rides, food, demonstrations and more at the Butler Farm Show. Enjoy an Italian themed event with craft vendors, entertainment and of course, food at the Butler Italian Festival. Join the Rodfathers of Butler for the biggest car cruise of the year, Cruise-a-Palooza, with DJs, dash plaques, special entertainment and more. Discover over 1,000 show cars, motorcycles, trucks, tractors and airplanes at the Penn Twp. VFD Mega Cruise/Fly In, along with great food, beverages, music, 50/50 raffles and a Chinese auction.
Visit Harmony to discover the ‘In Harmony’ Music Festival, bringing the vision of the late John Ruch, former president of Historic Harmony, to life with two days of great entertainment, celebrating Harmony’s rich musical heritage. Support the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation at the Western PA Ride for Kids, with any make or model of street legal motorcycle for a fun ride, food and entertainment. Cheer on STARS, local children fighting brain tumors, and help to cure the deadliest of childhood cancers.
